XC skiing

A network of 4 trails with a total length of 10 km, of which 6 km are easy and 4 km more difficult, awaits you!

The trails are groomed with a specially modified groomer. Classic cross-country skiing and freestyle, also known as "skating", is available on all trails. Our heated waxing room at the entrance of the station is equipped with waxing irons and an outdoor thermometer. Come and enjoy the enchanting scenery and tranquility of the Mont Edouard forest, starting from the station.

General information.

The grooming is done according to the opening schedule of the ski resort. If there is a storm while the resort is closed, the trails will not be groomed until it opens.

The trails are on private property. Please take this into account: stay on the trails, do not cut trees, and do not liter.

The trails are one-way with some two-way sections. Each trail forms a loop that starts and ends at the same point.

The start is 150 m north of the resort's waxing room. The parking lot north of the main parking lot is a good place to start.

Trail description

Trail #1: easy 2.6 km; total length round trip from start to finish 2.6 km.

The trail follows Patrice Fortin Creek for 1.5 km. There is a good little hill to climb and another to descend near the end. The beginning and end of this loop is a double track of 800 m. Keep to the right.

Trail #2: easy 3.4 km; total length round trip from start 6.0 km.

The trail is located in the edge of the woods at the foot of the hills. Some valleys and beautiful views are interesting. The beginning and end of this loop are a 300 m double track. Keep to the right.

Trail #3: difficult 2.2 km; total length round trip from start 8.0 km.

The trail starts with a steep descent, followed by a nice gentle climb for 1.3 km. It ends with a steep winding descent.

Trail #4: difficult 2.0 km; total length round trip from the start 10 km.

This trail starts from trail #3 and begins with a 400 m climb followed by some valleys. It ends with a steep slope that returns to trail #3. The beginning and end of the trail are a 300 m double track.

The goal of La Petite Expé is to introduce young people from all walks of life to the pleasure of cross-country skiing and to encourage them to be more active during the winter. Mont Edouard, with the support of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, welcomes Quebec elementary schools and children 12 years old and under for free.

Free cross-country ski rental for your children.

Thanks to the Pierre Lavoie Foundation, Mont Edouard has access to a fleet of cross-country skis for children. These skis are offered free of charge to children for one day of use per child.
